GIVING BACK
In addition to my professional design projects I coach business and entrepreneurship skills to teenage girls, equipping them with knowledge and skills to become future leaders and innovators. Working with the non-profit organization Girls With Impact I teach cohorts within the Academy Program in addition to contributing to the Future Ready Workshops curriculum.
Challenging these young leaders of tomorrow with critical thinking and reflection, I encourage them to identify their passion and guide them toward launching their own business ventures armed with expertise and confidence.
COACHING & TEACHING
Working with Girls With Impact, I facilitate a fun interactive remote learning experience for teen girls following the GWI Academy curriculum. Through eight sessions spread out over ten weeks during the school year and on accelerated tracks during the summer, I mentor girls for the program, monitoring their progression and encouraging course completion culminating in business plan, visual prototype & venture presentation.
Developed with Harvard leaders, this ‘mini-MBA’ program provides a fun, exciting and encouraging space for girls to learn entrepreneurial skills and gain confidence to develop their passions into a business or non-profit venture.
CURRICULUM WRITING
Education is a passion of mine and I created a pair of workshops designed to accompany the Girls With Impact Academy program. These sessions equip girls with conceptual and digital skills to assist in articulating their venture projects.
The first session provides an introduction to branding as we explore creating and communicating brand personality through visual foundations such as typography, color and form. The second workshop of the series equips girls with skills to create their own prototype as they are introduced to basic elements of webpage design and structure, as we build a simple website in SquareSpace.
